PRIVATE
SWIMMING LESSONS
The Auburn Recreation Department offers private swimming lessons
for children and adults who desire more individual attention. Lessons
are taught in four ½ hour blocks. Private lessons for special
needs children are available on a limited basis. Please contact
Patti Waskowiak to coordinate instructor and lesson times (530)

June 9 - August 7: Mon. through Thurs.
9:00-10:30am, 12:00-12:30pm, and 5:30-6:00pm

GROUP
SWIMMING SESSIONS - Ages 3+
Sessions run Monday - Thursday except where noted.
Please read carefully as we have made some changes from last summer.
This season we have grouped skills in such a way that the swimmer
must be able to successfully complete the skills prior to moving
to the next Level.
Level A: water adjustment, entering the water,
submerged face, blowing bubbles, floating back and front supported,
moving towards unsupported floating
Level B: float on front and back without support,
push off -kick and glide front and back, introductory front crawl
stroke
Level C: front crawl stroke with breathing, backstroke
Level D: swim across the pool front and back crawl,
introductory breast stroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and
butterfly
Level E: polished strokes in preparation for the
next step, lifeguarding, swim team or synchronized swimming
Fee: $48 Resident; $53 Non-Resident

RObAlOs COMpETITIvE
sWIM TEAM - Ages 5-18
swimrobalos.com
Swimmers must be able to swim unaided one length of the pool performing
three of the four competitive strokes. Swimmers practice Monday
through Thursday. Meets are held Saturday mornings beginning in
June. A non-refundable “try it out” fee of $30 can be
utilized to see if Robalos is a good match with your child. If your
child makes the team it will be applied to their registration.

fee.

MERMAIDs syNCHRONIzED
sWIM TEAM Ages 5-18
Meets are held on Wednesday nights beginning in June. A nonrefundable
“try it out” fee of $25 can be utilized to see if Mermaids
is a good match with your child. If your child makes the team it
will be applied to their registration. Note: A separate refundable
$75 parent participation check made out to Mermaids will be collected
at the time of registration.

Water Aerobics - Ages

This water aerobics class is geared towards all fitness levels.
Using musical routines the instructor guides you through a stretch,
warm up, and aerobic component before the warm-down.

Auburn Recreation District will operate the Sierra and Splash pool
this summer. They are open to the public according to the schedule
below. There will be times that the pool will be closed or the schedule
may be changed. We have listed in the activity guide those dates
and times that we know prior to publication. Check postings at the
pool or on-line for any other changes.

PUBLIC
SWIM PASSES
Swim Passes may be purchased at the customer service office and
pass holders will be admitted to the pool during scheduled Public
Swim times. A separate pass is needed for Adult Lap Swimming. A
Family Pass covers five immediate family members. There is a charge
for each additional family member.
Individual: $60 Resident; $65 Non-Resident
Family: $125 Resident; $130 Non-Resident
Add. Family: $15 Resident; $18 Non-Resident

MASTERS
SWIMMING - AGES 18+
The ARD Masters swim program will focus on stroke technique and
conditioning and will be open to all level of swimmers. Those interested
in competing in US Masters competition, both pool and open water
events, along with those training for triathlons, are welcome and
can talk with the coach about creating workouts designed to meet
the needs of events they plan to participate in throughout the year.

DIVING - Ages -
AGES 8+
This introductory class is for diving off the low springboard.
The class focuses on approaches, technique and safety. Current ability
will be assessed and an individualized learning program developed.
Upon mastery of basic dives more difficult back dives and flips
will be added. Swimmers must be able to tread water for 30 seconds
and swim the width of the pool.

LIFEGUARDING
- Ages 15+
Most pools require this certification before employing a lifeguard.
Course includes training and certification in life guarding, community
first aid, CPR for the professional rescuer and Title 22 (EMSA).
Lifeguard and first aid certification is good for 3 years; CPR is
good for 1 year. This is a popular class and will fill quickly.
Lifeguarding class will be offered late summer TBA- call for details.

- Ages 15+
Water Safety Instructor Course will be offered the last two weeks
of July and first of August-call for details
