Mermaid Synchronized Swimming Team

The Mermaids synchronized swim team has a long tradition here in the foothills. Synchronized swimming combines the grace of dancers, the coordination and flexibility of gymnasts, the spirit of cheerleading, and the strength of water polo players into one beautiful and powerful sport. Practices are held in the evenings Monday through Thursday and some weekends. Meets are held Wednesday evenings beginning in June and the league finals will be held in mid-July. New swimmers of all ages (7-18) are encouraged to join. Swimmers must attend one of our pre-season Free Beginner Clinics or contact the coach to arrange a different time for a swim assessment (theauburnmermaids@gmail.com). All swimmers and a parent are urged to attend Back in Sync on April 24 and provide a refundable, parent participation check made out to Mermaids in the amount of $125. Stroke and Turn

This is a great way to get a head start on summer recreational swimming. Come, get wet, see old friends, make new friends, and improve strokes, starts and turns. Swimmers will refine the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. This program is for swimmers who are capable of swimming these strokes, who want to begin their conditioning, refine their strokes and become more efficient.
