Explore classes and programs, designed for adults! Indulge your creative side while learning to dance, create beautiful art, or improve your knitting skills. In these adult classes, expert instructors will guide your journey as you try new skills or improve those you already have. All adult recreation classes are for ages 18 and older unless otherwise noted. 

FAITH’S DOG TRAINING

YOUNG DOG SOCIALIZATION OBEDIENCE GROUP CLASS

This is for dogs under the age of 10 months old. We learn about meeting people, dogs, leash instruction, jumping, appropriate play and mouthiness as well as other aspects of socialization.

Knotty Knitters

Whether you knit or crochet for fun, yourself or charity, come join us in a club atmosphere. Beginners are welcome, although there is no instructor. Bring your own projects.

FULL MOON/SUNSET PADDLE

DANCE FIT

FUN fitness program designed for older adults who are new to dance-style exercise, as well as active seniors.

Come learn to line dance in a fun and friendly environment! This class is for the beginner line dancer, no experience necessary. Come learn basic line dance steps and dances that will get you up and out on that dance floor!

DANCE IT OUT

WAKE UP AND DANCE

This class is geared towards those who are experienced in line dancing, and want more of a challenge. In this workshop we will learn improver and intermediate level line dances. This workshop is fast paced, but fun! Come line dance in a fun and friendly atmosphere, meet new people, laugh, and DANCE IT OUT!

COUNTRY WESTERN & IRISH LINE DANCING

Let’s keep on learning and dancing this energetic and fun style! Enjoy traditional and new dances, a touch of easy Line dancing, Folk Greek, Celtic and the popular French, La Chapelloise. Step by step, lively music, great atmosphere and new friends. Singles and couples welcomed. Everybody rotates and dances with each other. No previous experience needed.

Country Swing – Beginner

This is a basics class for beginners. Learn the basics in country swing dancing so you can cut a rug on any dance floor. Whether for a fun date night or to learn a new hobby, country swing is fun for all occasions.

ARGENTINE TANGO & LATIN DANCING

Fall in love with the gentle and elegant Argentine Tango. Easy introduction or add new fun routines to the lively and popular Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha! BEGINNING BRIDGE

Discover the excitement of bridge in this engaging eight-session course designed for beginners. No partner or prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a desire to have fun! Each class includes a one-hour lesson followed by one hour of real play. You’ll learn the fundamentals of bidding and play, while enjoying a social, friendly environment. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to join face-to-face or online bridge games with confidence.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Not feeling like the best version of You? Restore yourself! Take an hour of quiet time for yourself, relaxing music, and low lights. Each class starts with gentle movements focused on finding a mindful presence of breath and body. We move the body towards longer holds with the support of bolsters and blankets. We spend time seated, on hands and knees, and lying down.

A hybrid of vinyasa flow and balance. This class focuses on finding the perfect balance of strength and flexibility in mind and body. This is a great class for beginners and experienced. PAINT & SIP

Create a lovely piece of artwork in this fun and relaxing class. Using acrylic paints on an 8×10 canvas. There will be more than one option to choose from. Have a sip of wine and enjoy a charcuterie tray while painting.

POTTERY WHEEL

SCULPTURE CLASS

Learn the basics of sculpture and create your own unique piece. In the first class you will sculpt your pieces and they will be fired and in the second class you will paint them. The pieces will be fired again and returned to ARD for pick up. Learn in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Confident Chefs

AGE 18+

  • Nuts may be used in recipes (will be noted).
  • Each class is two hours, consists of hands-on and demonstration of recipe preparation.
  • Every chef goes home with recipes from the class.
  • Substitutions of ingredients may be necessary due to current supply shortages.
  • Please tie up your hair and wear closed-toe shoes.
  • Dietary issues can be accommodated .

 

Cooking Classes

With 15+ years teaching cooking classes, Chef Terry Masten will share professional techniques and tips in hands-on and fast-paced classes. Chefs will have fun while learning, guaranteed!

FRENCH TWISTS

RUSTIC FRENCH APPLE GALETTE is a perfect recipe to make a “pie” without a traditional crust or a pie pan. SKILLET FRENCH ONION SOUP results in the same incredible classic flavors of French Onion Soup but with less work. Keep both of these Master recipes in mind for guests at your table even if you don’t need to impress.

Retro Fun

An eclectic menu of CHAR SIU CHICKEN that is seen on many Asian menus and ITALIAN WEDDING SOUP. Some ingredients may be new to you but are not too mysterious — Master recipes for sure. Wait for guest compliments and recipe requests!

Give It Away

Elegant Chocolate Truffles (walnuts will be used in this recipe) and CHOCOLATE BISCOTTI (No nuts). Who can resist giving a chocolate gift to a special person? Professional tips and techniques take the mystery out of chocolate work. All glittery stuff including ribbon and presentation “containers” are included. Come hungry, too!

CLASSIC MOP SAUCE paired with SAVORY MEATBALLS & CREAMY TUSCAN SAUCE tossed on rustic pasta (prepared with white wine, put together in class). These sauces are Master recipes that will become trusted favorites perfect for any occasion — Straight forward, aromatic and easy.

CARIBBEAN PORK may introduce you to new ingredients for a spectacular recipe, accompanied by an interesting, colorful KALEIDOSCOPE RICE SALAD. Both recipes are perfect for times when you want to impress guests, so keep them in mind and handy.
