The Auburn Recreation District, ARD, is hosting its annual Floating Egg Hunt at Recreation Park in the Sierra Pool on Saturday, April 8 from 12-2pm.
The pool is heated to 84 degrees and a thousand festive Easter eggs will be scattered throughout the pool. Eight participants are invited to go into the pool at a time, each with their own lane. Children who are unable to swim on their own will be able to swim in the shallower part of the pool with an adult.
Each child will have the chance to collect 10 eggs from the pool, which they can then turn in for candy and prizes. A lucky golden egg will also be hidden. The child who finds the golden egg will win a bike donated by Feed the Hungry of Auburn.
The fee is $3 a family and registration is at the door. Each child will leave with a prize. After the aquatic hunt for eggs, families are invited to stay for Parks and Rec staff games and activities. The event will feature a free balloon twister and food from Half Pint Kitchen.
