ROBALOS SWIM TEAM

Robalos Swimming is for boys and girls ages 5 to 18.  In order to join the Auburn Robalos, swimmers must be able to swim, unaided, one length of the pool at the Swimmer’s Evaluation.  There is no prior stroke or competitive experience required to join the team.  Swimmers practice Monday through Thursday. Additional fun family/swimmer activities will be scheduled.   Meets are held Saturday morning beginning in June.  

Back to Swim Night is an evening to come together, hear about the upcoming season, meet the coaches, order team wear, meet old friends and make new ones.  All families and swimmers are expected to attend Thursday, April 23 at 5:30pm, Canyon View Community Center.

STROKE AND TURN

This is a great way to get a head start on summer recreational swimming.  Come, get wet, see old friends, make new friends, and improve strokes, starts and turns.   Swimmers will refine the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.  This program is for swimmers who are capable of swimming these strokes, who want to begin their conditioning, refine their strokes and become more efficient.

MERMAID SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING TEAM

The Mermaids synchronized swim team has a long tradition here in the foothills. Synchronized swimming combines the grace of dancers, the coordination and flexibility of gymnasts, the spirit of cheerleading, and the strength of water polo players into one beautiful and powerful sport.

Practices are held in the evenings Monday through Thursday and some weekends. Meets are held Wednesday evenings beginning in June and the league finals will be held in mid-July. New swimmers of all ages (7-18) are encouraged to join. Swimmers must attend one of our pre-season Free Beginner Clinics or contact the coach to arrange a different time for a swim assessment (theauburnmermaids@gmail.com).   All swimmers and a parent are urged to attend Back in Sync on April 27 and provide a refundable, parent participation check made out to Mermaids in the amount of $125. (Swimmers will not be allowed in the pool without a check).

MERMAID SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING TEAM CLINICS

Join your Auburn Mermaids coaches for a preseason clinic where we welcome any interested new swimmers to come learn about the sport and our team and give it a try! We also welcome back returning swimmers to come learn the new figures and practice lifts for the upcoming season. Invite friends to join us and help the Mermaid team to grow!

CONDITIONING– MERMAIDS SWIMMING

Come out and get ready for the synchronized swimming season.  This class is for conditioning as well as an opportunity to learn and practice basic figures.  It’s open to beginning as well as experienced swimmers.  Make new friends and meet up with old friends.  Sign up for clinics and both months at the same time and save!

Lifeguarding with Title 22

This lifeguard class will be offered as a blended learning style.  Course work will need to be completed online prior to the first day of in person course work. Proof of completion is mandatory. This course will certify students in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  The class also covers water rescues, professionalism, prevention, and many other topics to prepare participants for a job as a lifeguard with ARD.  Also covered is Title 22, required by the State of California for all lifeguards. A pre-course swim test must be passed to take this course.  Hurry, this is a popular class and fills up quickly.

MASTERS SWIMMING

Masters swimming is for adults to receive instruction on their strokes, get a coached workout and start the day swimming.  Information on Open Water Swims around Northern California will be available.  This is a great workout for individuals participating in Triathlon events.  Masters meets three mornings a week.
