This LEGO® Robotics theme brings animals, tools, and quirky inventions to life through mechanical movement and creative design. In this action-packed Robotics theme, students will build powerful machines like tanks, jets, and missile launchers—designed for strength, movement, and precision. From catapults to lightsabers, this camp is packed with wild invention! Campers take on real challenges using the genius tricks of legends like Da Vinci, Ben Franklin, and Rube Goldberg. Build forts, design underwater vehicles, and crank up your own mini-amplifier. It’s hands-on problem-solving, non-stop tinkering, and 100% invention-fueled fun. Edison said it takes perspiration — we just call it awesome.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a week of high-flying science — from the first flying machines to the edge of space. Campers explore aerodynamics by building airplanes, testing them in wind tunnels, and creating balloon copters. They’ll uncover the science of flight, experiment with celestial navigation, and build a rocket to take home. From sky science to space discovery, this camp is pure lift-off!

BABYSITTING 101

Students will learn the basics of child and infant safety, discipline techniques, infant and child care, business etiquette, fun and games, and an overview of child and infant CPR and first aid. This is not a certification course, but students will earn a certificate of participation.

Core Skills Camp

Learn and improve all core skills required to be successful in soccer. Develop individual skills with the ball, including dribbling, 1v1 skills, passing, control and shooting. Fun, progressive, age appropriate training activities are designed to help players develop their skills in a high energy and encouraging environment. Daily mini-tournaments are incorporated into each day of training to give players the opportunity to test their skills.

CLAY & PAPER MACHE

This exciting mixed media camp will start you on your wat to becoming a talented artist. Create with clay and cover it with paper mache wall hanging. Paint it and make it fabulous. At the end of class, you will have a wonderful three-dimensional piece of artwork to hang on your wall.

FAIRY AND GNOME HABITATS

Come to this class where you will not just be building an old Fairy or Gnome garden, but a living growing garden. Channel your inner fairy or gnome and create a home for them. Large bowls will be provided to fill with dirt, sand, tiny furniture, glitter, and much more. Also make tiny things for your tiny home. This will be a high end home for your favorite fairy or gnome.

THEATER CAMP

Children will be work on a play, memorize lines and perform a show all in one week. Students will audition in front of their peers so the instructor can choose the part best for them. COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM (CIT)

This program is a great opportunity for young teens to receive on-the-job training under the direction of our Discovery Day Camp staff by plugging into our program in areas such as: working hands-on with groups, set-up for events, leading games, preparing snacks, and other responsibilities as they arise. CITs are included in all day camp activities. We offer a summer of fun and personal growth for your student, and a chance to explore the possibility of becoming a future Program Leader with Discovery Day Camp. Must have completed 7th grade to enroll. Looking for teens who are motivated, responsible, and enjoy working with younger campers.

Basketball SKILLS & DRILLS

Your child can improve their game this summer with a half-day basketball skill development camp held outdoors at Live Oak Waldorf School. This camp focuses on fundamental basketball skills while having fun and building confidence on the court. Skill focus: dribbling, shooting, passing, individual defense/offense, and conditioning. The camp coaches will meet the players at their skill level.

Join us for a week of Beading & Twine, where students will design and create their own wearable art. Working with twine, beads, and natural materials, campers will learn basic braiding techniques and jewelry-making, creating all kinds of bracelets, necklaces, bookmarks, keychains, and a variety of other special creations.

Birds & Butterflies

Clothing Upcycle

This camp will teach different techniques to upcycle, decorate, and mend our clothing. We will learn the basics of hand sewing and embroidery, how to sew on a button, hand carve a simple linocut stamp to use on clothing, tie dye, and learn how to apply patches. Bring your favorite boring clothes and we’ll make them new and fun!

¡El Viaje! A Journey en Español

This camp offers an enriching experience for the young language learner with iconic cultural experiences a traveler might encounter in Latin America and Spain. We will have opportunities to learn key language phrases to accompany us in our travels while we sample interesting cuisine, appreciate famous artists (and do their artwork!), visit famous destinations, create and attend a premier league soccer game, enjoy a musical experience, and so much more We will explore hands-on opportunities with these engaging concepts in a half-day camp setting. We will have opportunities to taste new foods, create beautiful artwork, learn about Hispanic traditions, play games in Spanish (indoors and outside) and challenge ourselves by applying our learning with Spanish vocabulary, expressions, pronunciation and culture each day to bring the student’s new language skills to the forefront. Girls on Fire

Join us for a week of feminine-centered connection to connect meaningfully to one another through craft projects, and a safe space to exhale and learn more about themselves. Craft projects include clay candle sconces, hand-sewn original patches, tie dye, henna and block prints. We will spend time in nature and also time indoors.

Let’s Make a Notebook

We will learn basic hand sewing stitches, how to embroider, sew on buttons, make buttonholes, and how to apply sequins. We will also make paper from scratch. Our projects will be hand sewing a crown, making a felt cover for our journal, making paper for the inside of our journal, and sewing the whole thing together!

The Magic of Film Making

Introduction to filmmaking. Campers will learn how movies are structured and the basics behind filmmaking. Campers will create stories and bring them to life through the camera. Campers will create and film a 1 minute short film. The Wonders of Screenwriting camp would make a great partner for this camp.

Mindful Movers

Practice of yoga and mindfulness will be made accessible to children through play, games, storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and being in nature. Practicing yoga helps children develop good posture, flexibility, and strength. Children will also learn to strengthen their concentration and focus, increasing their learning and development of attention, without tension. Yoga also gives children a sense of the sacredness of life and the power of connection to oneself, each other, and our beautiful planet Earth!

Nature Art

Let’s get creative with nature! In this camp, we’ll spend time outside exploring, appreciating nature, and collecting a variety of natural materials to turn into fun art projects. We’ll paint rocks, make prints with leaves, go on nature walks, and find treasures to use in our crafts. Each day is a new adventure, full of storytelling, creativity, curiosity, and hands-on fun!

Spend the week crafting with nature. We will take short walks on our beautiful campus gathering items to add to our creations.

Outside Games & Fun

Get ready to spend your days outdoors running, jumping, and playing a variety of classic and exciting games like Tag, Sharks and Minnows, Four Square, Relay Races, and Obstacle Courses. This camp is a chance to stay active, work as a team, make new friends, and enjoy the fresh air. Each day brings plenty of fun!

Painting, Pastels, and Art

Join us to explore painting and drawing through a variety of mediums, including watercolors, pastels, acrylics, and more. Campers will learn new techniques, experiment with color and texture, developing new skills while playfully exploring their artistic expression.

Potions & Pampering Crafts

In this camp, campers will learn how to make a variety of self-care items such as lavender eye pillows, natural bath bombs, lip balms, candles, and more. Using simple, natural ingredients, we’ll create items that are perfect for self-pampering and self-care, allowing this time to be creative, unwind, and have fun with friends!

Queens & Kings Chess Camp

We will have a new chess tournament every day as well as learn new chess moves and all about chess. Each day a chess related craft will be availble such as water coloring and sculpting.

joy of Rugby

Discover the joy of rugby! This camp teaches campers the basics of rugby in a non-contact setting. Campers will learn the fundamentals and hone their skills through flag rugby play. This camp is great for those who have never played before as well as those who have played in the past.

Sun & Song Summer Camp

Morning nature walks. Snack time and story. Seasonal crafts and water play. We will make sun catchers, paint, and have a bubble day. There will be different activities than the afternoon camp. Campers do not have to attend both camps, but could if you want an all-day camp experience.

Sand, Sun, & Ocean Fun!
