Detective Madness

Like to solve mysteries? Crack the case? You will step into the shoes of a real detective. Use science to uncover evidence and analyze the hidden secrets of a case. Put cool sleuthing tools and proven forensic techniques to work and unravel mysteries that would stump even Sherlock Holmes! Ok, well maybe they would fool your brother. But they’d be CRAZY to think they can fool Detective you!

An ecological adventure – Campers will find themselves stranded on an island… now what?! Work together using the supplies you have to learn to survive until you are rescued. MACHINE MAYHEM USING LEGO MATERIALS

Design your custom LEGO® creation to take on any challenge. Mix and match chassis designs using wheels, treads, or walking legs and then combine these with tools like drills, hammers, and battering rams. You will refine your masterpiece by sparring with friends and overcoming obstacles all while applying real-world engineering and physics concepts to help you bash and crash your way to victory!

BABYSITTING 101

Students will learn the basics of child and infant safely, discipline techniques, infant and child care, business etiquette, fun and games, and an overview of child and infant CPR and first aid. This is not a certification course, but students will earn a certificate of participation.

Babysitting Camp

SHOTOKAN KARATE:

SHOTOKAN KARATE TEEN SUMMER CAMP

Are you intrigued by Martial Arts?  Do you want to challenge yourself physically and mentally?  Come join our summer camp in Shotokan Karate from July 14 to 17. You will be introduced to basic Karate techniques and forms, taught by experienced instructors from the Foothill Dojo of Shotokan Karate of America (https://ska.org/), a non-profit organization teaching traditional Karate since 1956.  Our training emphasizes Karate as an ART not a sport. LEGO ROBOTICS: MARINE BOTS

Plunge into the depths of the ocean where students create models inspired by sea life and maritime adventures, such as fishing rods, crab boats, and sealions. Using motors and sensors that integrate seamlessly with traditional Lego® bricks, they’ll explore the basics of robotics. As they bring their marine creations to life through a child-friendly drag-and-drop programming interface, students delve into mechanical concepts including gears, pulleys, levers, and cams.

CLAY AND PAPER MACHE CAMP

This exciting mixed media camp will start you on your way to becoming a talented artist. Create with clay and cover it with paper mache to create a paper mache wall hanging. Paint it and make it fabulous. At the end of class you will have a wonderful three dimensional piece of artwork.

FAIRY & GNOME HABITATS CAMP

Come to this class where you will not just be building any old Fairy or Gnome garden, but a living growing garden. Large bowls will be provided to fill with dirt, sand, tiny furniture, glitter, etc. Also make tiny things for your tiny home. Create a high end home for your fairy or gnome.

FUN WITH PAINT CAMP

Want to be a brilliant painter? This camp will help you on your way. Enjoy painting with step-by-step instructions learning the tricks of the trade. Explore your creative side. Paint on canvas, wood, and various other pieces. Bring an apron or just wear clothes that can get paint on them.

If you like to create with clay, then this is the class for you. Make sculptures, bowls, plates, cups, etc. Learn about various kinds of clay. Final pieces will be fired and glazed and returned to ARD for pick up.

PRINCESS and SUPERHEROES CRAFT CAMP

Children will work on fun crafts for their Princess and Superhero Day. Each day they will craft and play games associated with the Princess and Superhero we are learning about that day. The last day of camp we have a day of our tea party which all students may bring a treat to share and an obstacle course to run through.

CRAFT CAMP

Children will work on different crafts each day. This camp is for children who can follow instructions and focus on their own work. We will play games and get some movement out. Please have children bring water bottles and comfortable clothes that can get messy.

THEATER CAMP

Let your children get their creativity to come to life. Children will be working on a play, memorizing lines and performing a show all in one week. Students will audition in front of their peers so the instructor can choose the part best for them. We will be creating backdrops, props, and costumes.

Youth Basketball Camp

This postseason class is for girls and boys to have fun! We focus on the whole player, teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. We teach drills that involve playing with teammates, fundamentals, passing shooting, rebounding and defense.

CORE SKILLS CAMP

Participants learn and improve all core skills required to be successful in the game of soccer. Emphasis is placed on helping players develop individual skills including dribbling, 1v1 skills, passing, control and shooting in a high energy and encouraging environment. Daily mini-tournaments are incorporated into each day of training to give players the opportunity to test their skills in a game environment.

Joy of Rugby

Create and discover new and different ways to make bubbles. We make our own wands, and also carve and create waterways to see how things flow.

Nature Stained “Glass” Windows

We will go on nature walks and collect items to display in a transparent sticky paper to look like stained glass.

Summer Garden

Create hand-made outdoor decorations like dream catchers, pinecone art, bird feeders, wind chimes and fairy houses. Campers take home a mini seed garden to water and watch sprout.

Paper Creations

This camp will have two main projects: make pocket notebooks from scratch and paper mache a keepsake box and decorate it with collages, paint, and little treasures.

Create your own Board Game

Campers invent a board game by developing a theme, setting objectives, and creating unique rules. Once the ideas are solidified, games are brought to life by sculpting, painting, and personalizing game pieces.

A World of Mandalas

Explore how different cultures express themselves with mandalas. We will assemble large group mandalas with materials gathered from nature walks. Campers create a mandala of their own.
