SKYHAWKS SPORTS CAMPS

MINI-HAWK CAMP

This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. Sports are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through exciting games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace.

BASKETBALL CAMP

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole player – teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense through skill-based instruction and small-sided scrimmages.

PICKLEBALL CAMP

This combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong into a fun new court game! Our curriculum is designed for first-time players, but also challenging enough for more competitive play. Participants will learn the rules of Pickleball, along with similar skills and games that they can use in multiple racquet sports. Participants may bring their own racquet or one will be provided.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program. Our Core Skills Soccer camp focuses on helping participants learn and improve all core soccer skills. Emphasis is placed on helping players develop individual skills including dribbling, 1v1, passing, control and shooting. Each day participants are guided through a variety of fun, progressive, age-appropriate activities in a high energy and encouraging environment. Daily mini-tournaments are incorporated into each day of training to give players the opportunity to test their skills in a game environment.

FUTSAL FACTORY SKILLS CAMP

Futsal is fun, fast, exciting and the #1 way to improve soccer skills. Each one of our Futsal Core Skills Camps is packed full of high energy and dynamic training activities which are specially designed to help players develop their core individual skills in a fun and engaging environment. Campers will spend the first part of each day working through various skills activities before participating in an end of day mini-tournament where they can test their skills.

Get ready for an amazing summer adventure with your kids of all athletic abilities 5 to 12 years old! During our Gravity Camp, young gymnasts will receive expert coaching to master the art of apparatus like bars, balance beams, and vaults. Our aerial circus instructors will guide them through the basics of silk, trapeze, and lyra. And for those seeking to gain speed, agility, and strength, the ninja warrior course is waiting to be conquered.

Are you intrigued by Martial Arts? Do you want to challenge yourself physically and mentally? In Shotokan Karate you will be introduced to basic Karate techniques and forms, taught by experienced instructors from the Foothill Dojo of Shotokan Karate of America, a non-profit organization teaching traditional Karate since 1956. CRAZY CHEMWORKS

Get ready to lose your mind in the vast and exciting world of chemistry! This camp is full of reactions, observations, solutions, suspensions, explosions, concoctions, perplexions, digestions, reflections, and Dalmatians (kidding)! You will challenge your friends in the labware game, combat evaporation, be amazed at the awesome power of glue technology and trigger some shocking chemical reactions. You’ll snoop out counterfeit money, launch chemical explosions (not TOO big) and learn how and why the chemical world works. So dive into our fantastically fun pool of chemical experimentation! Just don’t mix this one with that one or you might blow up the universe!

SCIENCE ROCKSTARS

Get ready to rock with science and wow the crowd with cool potions and chemical reactions. Grow your own crystals, and explore cool chromatography! We experiment with inertia and gravity and learn what football players, ballet dancers and scientists have in common. Then learn all about visual effects in photography and movie-making as we examine how cameras work, how film captures light and stores images, and how filmmakers make images move. Finally, go mad with structures and machines as you build a geodesic dome you can sit inside. Discover how simple machines such as pulleys, wedges, screws and levers make our lives easier and then build a catapult to keep.

NASA-JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE

Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space. See the principles of thrust and propulsion at work in a real rocket launch. Explore the atmosphere, watch star dust burn, investigate the life cycle of stars, explore our solar system and create a lunar eclipse. Probe the mysteries of meteors and bounce around satellite light. Experience the life of an astronaut as you suit up for a space flight and then perform spacecraft repairs. This experience is truly out of this world!

EUREKA! THE INVENTORS CAMP

Be inspired by the most famous inventors in history and create your OWN inventions! Use their techniques to break through a series of modern-day challenges. You will learn how to invent solutions to problems and make them come to life, just like these legendary innovators did. Construct catapults and forts, design underwater vehicles, build a mini-amplifier, and assemble a working lightsaber to take home. Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, but this camp is 100% fun.

Motor Madness

Calling all car lovers out there! During this session, children will build a new kind of car each week and learn the concepts surrounding it. For example, one week might focus on a power car where children try different gear combinations and another week might focus on building a car with sails and learn all about wind resistance and its effect on speed. Some models will focus on programming too.

Come to this class where you will not just be building any old Fairy or Gnome Garden, but a living growing garden. Large bowls will be provided to fill with dirt, sand, tiny furniture, glitter, etc. Also make tiny things for your tiny home. This will be a high-end home for your favorite fairy or gnome.

CLAY AND PAPER MACHE CAMP

This exciting mixed media camp will start you on your way to becoming a talented artist. Create with clay and cover it with paper mache to create a paper mache wall hanging. Paint it and make it fabulous. At the end of class you will have a wonderful three dimensional piece of artwork to hang on your wall.

Knife Making 101

If you have always dreamed of making your own knife from raw materials, but didn’t know where to start, you can take part in a hand forged knife making class, where students will learn skills that will stay with them for a lifetime. Using traditional blacksmithing methods, students will forge their own custom knife out of high carbon steel. We will cover the basics of blacksmithing safety, forging techniques, sheath construction and some power tools usage.
